When you bring your aircraft to KP Aviation Services for maintenance, inspection, or repair, we collect the following information:

- Service Information: Type of service or inspection requested, service history, and maintenance records

Program Description: KP Aviation Services operates an SMS text message notification program that sends you real-time status updates about your aircraft's maintenance or inspection progress directly to your cell phone. This is a transactional messaging program — we only send messages related to your specific aircraft and active service order. We do not send marketing or promotional messages.
Who opts in and where: Opt-in is collected from the aircraft owner or authorized representative at the time their aircraft is checked in for service. The individual providing their cell phone number and consenting to receive SMS updates is the person who will receive all messages. Consent is collected specifically for this campaign and is never shared, transferred, or reused for any other purpose.
How consent is collected — all opt-in methods:
- Paper intake form: Customers complete the KP Aviation Aircraft Intake Form at check-in. The form includes a clearly labeled SMS opt-in section with two checkboxes: "YES — I consent to receive SMS status updates" and "NO — I do not wish to receive SMS updates." The customer checks their choice and signs the form. A copy of this form is available at kpaviationservices.com/aircraft-intake-form.html.
- Online customer portal: Customers may provide consent through our online aircraft status portal at kpaviationservices.com/customer-portal.html.
- Verbal consent at check-in: Staff verbally confirm the customer's consent to receive SMS updates. The consent is recorded in our service management system at the time of check-in. Verbal opt-in is always accompanied by a signed paper intake form.
Types of messages you may receive include:
- Check-in confirmation when your aircraft is received at our facility
- Status updates as your aircraft moves through the inspection or repair process (e.g., "Compression test complete," "Waiting on parts")
- Notifications of any significant findings that require your attention or approval
- Estimated completion time updates
- Pickup reminder if your aircraft has been ready for more than 24 hours
- Pickup notification when your aircraft is ready for return

Message frequency: Message frequency varies depending on the complexity of your service. A typical annual inspection generates 3–8 messages over the course of the service. You will never receive marketing or promotional messages through this program.
Message and data rates may apply. Standard SMS and data rates charged by your mobile carrier apply to messages you send and receive. KP Aviation Services does not charge any fee for this notification service.
Mobile number privacy: Your mobile phone number will not be shared, sold, rented, or transferred to any third party for their own marketing or messaging purposes. Your number is used solely to deliver aircraft status notifications on behalf of KP Aviation Services. The only third party that receives your number is Twilio, Inc., our SMS delivery provider, which processes it solely to transmit messages we send and is prohibited from using it for any other purpose.
Consent specificity: Consent to receive SMS messages from KP Aviation Services is collected specifically and exclusively for this program. Your consent is not shared with, transferred to, or used by any other company, program, or campaign.
Messaging Provider: Our SMS messages are delivered through Twilio, Inc., a third-party messaging service. Twilio processes your phone number solely to deliver messages on our behalf and is bound by their own privacy policy available at twilio.com/legal/privacy.
We use the information we collect solely for the following purposes:
- Service delivery: To perform the aviation maintenance, inspection, or repair services you have requested
- SMS notifications: To send you real-time status updates about your aircraft via text message
- Service records: To maintain accurate maintenance records for your aircraft as required by FAA regulations (14 CFR Part 43)
- Customer communication: To contact you regarding questions about your aircraft or service
- Safety communications: To notify you of any airworthiness concerns or safety-related findings discovered during service
We do not use your information for marketing purposes, sell your data to third parties, or use it for any purpose unrelated to the aviation services we provide to you.
We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties except in the following limited circumstances:
- Twilio, Inc.: Your phone number is shared with Twilio solely for the purpose of delivering SMS notifications to you. Twilio does not use your information for any other purpose.
- FAA and regulatory authorities: We may be required to share certain aircraft maintenance records with the Federal Aviation Administration or other regulatory authorities as required by law (14 CFR Part 43).
- Legal requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority.
- Business transfers: In the event of a sale, merger, or transfer of KP Aviation Services, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any such change.
We do not share your personal information with any other third parties, including advertisers, marketing companies, or data brokers.
We retain your information for the following periods:
- Aircraft maintenance records: Retained for a minimum of 2 years as required by 14 CFR §43.9, and typically longer as part of our permanent maintenance records
- SMS message logs: Retained for 2 years from the date of service completion
- Contact information: Retained for as long as you are an active customer, or for 3 years after your last service, whichever is longer
After the applicable retention period, your personal information is securely deleted from our systems. Aircraft maintenance records required by the FAA may be retained longer to comply with regulatory requirements.
To stop receiving SMS messages at any time: Reply STOP to any message we send you. You will receive one final confirmation message and no further messages will be sent. You may also call us at (208) 557-3709 or email us to opt out.
Additional SMS commands:
- STOP: Unsubscribe from all SMS notifications
- START: Re-subscribe to SMS notifications if you have previously opted out

Opting out of SMS notifications will not affect your ability to receive service from KP Aviation Services. You may still check the status of your aircraft by calling us directly at (208) 557-3709 or visiting our online status portal.
Your additional rights include:
- Access: You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: You may request correction of any inaccurate information we hold
- Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal information, subject to our legal retention obligations

While we take reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your information. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
Our services are intended for adults who own or operate aircraft. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us immediately and we will promptly delete such information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will:
